Letting it pass

Life.. I've heard many times, specially when a little kid, the phrase "not to seat back and watch your life pass by", a phrase that got stuck in my mind for the longest time, imagining at times how would I look like while doing so, in a jokingly manner, although they are situations where you can hardly avoid it, and there's no joke about that.
